Oh it’s on now, bitches

Hoo-wee!!

That old girl may have some fight in her still!

For those of you who missed Bonnie Neely’s grandstand at the Eureka City Council Tuesday night, your loss!  When she took the floor, it was like Inherit the Wind, only without all the sincerity.

The Times-Standard caught the high points of Neely’s oration:

“Requests for an independent audit of these funds have been denied by the city,” Neely said. “What happened to these public monies? … The many questions which remain can only be answered by a thorough and independent audit — a forensic audit — of the funds… followed by disclosure to the public and review by responsible agencies to determine if laws have been violated. That is your responsibility. Anything less is a violation of the public trust.”

You want to know the best part? On this rare occasion, we actually agree with the Bon Bon. Let’s see an accounting of funds before our water and sewer rates are jacked up all to hell. Why not?

And while we’re at it, here are just a few additional items we would like to see Neely forensically account for:

  • The Headwaters Fund
  • The Arcata Economic Development Council
  • County of Humboldt Redevelopment Agency (Remember that one?)
  • Tamara Falor’s employment separation settlement
  • Legal expenses from the Tooby Ranch case
  • The Community Housing Fund
  • The Workforce Housing Trust Fund
  • The $10,000 campaign contribution from that Southern California developer with matters pending before the Coastal Commission, which Neely chairs
  • Etc., etc., etc.

We could go on and on. But some of us have to do our jobs. Even when we’re not trailing by 16 points at the polls.

  1. Hypocrite for sale. Contact Bonnie Neely for details.

  2. two major points of clarification
Bonnie is not down 16 points. She is down 28 points
Bonnie is not for sale: Bill Pierson bought her fair and square

  3. And let’s not forget the $5,500 of campaign contributions given to Bonnie by Forster-Gill project manager Mike and Dee Atkins.

He listed his profession on her 460s as “forester” and his wife, Dee Atkins, as a hotel manger.

Does Forster-Gill have a project pending before the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors?

  4. The number we used was the difference between Virginia’s 47% and Bonnie’s 31% in the June primary. There are lots of ways to parse this, but that one works just fine.

And anon, ha! Now stop stealing our shit.

  5. Bonnie has just one option and that is to throw shit and see where it sticks. This is a desperate move and she knows it, but what choice does she have. We all know that she is the meanist person in the world and she will just show us how she can use that “skill”. I believe that this is only the iceberg and we will see a lot of stunts as we move to November.

  6. Wow! Until I read this post and thread, I didn’t know whether Bonnie had made any traction. Clearly she did!

  7. Traction, my ass … I haven’t seen this many desperation Hail Mary passes since the Detroit Lions played the Dallas Cowboys.

  8. Ask bon bon about the same types of funds the county stole from MCK. Pot kettle black. Well no, she’s been doing it for 24 years.

  9. Interesting about the funds. How about the TOT taxes that are generated by the Holiday Inn Express, yet none is passed on to MCK. About 100,000 dollars a year is the est. times 10 plus years. How about the practice of having people go office to office talking to supervisors, a clear violation of the Brown Act. When the band of 3 voted on review of Sheriff or any of a dozen items and it obvious that it is worked out ahead of time. Think about Foust on planning commisson.

I agree we are going to see bon bon at her worst, she will pull out all stops go as low as it takes. She never made it to Sacramento and she is pissed off.

  10. Chris – was that the Thanksgiiving game back in the 1980s with Higgenboom as quarterback? Didn’t Detroit win that one?

  11. [...] addendum: Check out the Humboldt Mirror’s take on the issue. Possibly related posts: (automatically generated)Community leaders backing BonniePlanning [...]

  12. McKinleyville does get money from the County – almost $500,000 but I don’t know if that includes any TOT funds.

Bonnie’s only chance is all the progs that will vote because of N that might vote for her.

Forster-Gill probably will go to the BOS before too long and they need to buy all the votes they can buy.

No, it’s just a coincidence that Bonnie took office in the 1980s and that was the last time Detroit had a winning football team.

  14. Anon,

Its interesting that you know that number and don’t know if it includes TOT money. Within 3% is pretty close guess.

It does not include any TOT money, It is in fact the property tax money that residents paid. Not any gift from the county.Measure B money is included in there also.

I agree with your last 2 points but I think there will be a swell of more conservative voters that will offset the progs.

  15. Bugs, thanks for making me laugh so hard I fell out of my chair and knocked myself unconscious.

  16. I think I figured out who the Humboldt Herald is (now):

James Faulk, the former sucky reporter turned underqualified City Editor at the Times-Standard who recently fell off the face of the Earth. It makes total sense. His sycophantic behavior towards Bonnie earned him some huge political dividends that he cashed in on. Probably paid for by Pierson and a few other lefties.

He was the T-S’s go to guy for Web stuff. Think about it.

Where is Faulk now? He hasn’t left the area. He isn’t writing any more. And he is just the kind of guy who would love to fixate on anything Arkley.

    Hmmm. Anyone?

  17. The Herald is much bigger than just these local folks

  18. C’mon Mirror, Rob only gives a shit about the Coastal Commission and the General Plan, not the rest of that nonsense.

  19. This blog is hurting America.

Nah dude go look on 5th St. Y’all sorry at this investigator shit. Go down to 5th in between comments and say what up Humboldt Herald $$. Ain’t no place else to go west side anyway.

This motherfucker sets posts to pop off at preset times but not comments.

I’ll give you another hint, this motherfucker talks to people you know who happen to be in Tweak Town. Observe.

  21. Damn, Mr. Nice, still can’t git yer’ lingo, Will ask Savage Henry for translation.
Me thinks you suspect the place across from Denny’s.

  22. Hey, you guys agree to a settlement with the baykeepers?

  23. Loves to see her all freaked out like this. Not doing good and not getting what you want Bon Bon? Kick and scream until you do

  24. Loves to see her all freaked out like this. Not doing good and not getting what you want Bon Bon? Kick and scream until you do

  25. Shucks, that’s what we NEED in a supervisor, is someone like Bonnie who will kick and scream, instead of rolling over.

  26. Get this from The Reporta blog:

    Richard Marks (Bass Manager) says:
    September 9, 2010 at 2:05 pm

Virginia accepted $1,500 from former 4th District Supervisor Danny Walsh who happens to be a lobbyist and people like you are trying to tie this with one of his clients. Bonnie has been given $10,000 a pop from people with absolutely no ties to Humboldt County. Paint that how you will.

Anonymous: The Sonoma County Water Agency is Danny Walsh & Associates’ ONLY client. (Source: CA Secretary of State). These are the people who have been taking our water and want more all the time.

    Bass? Sundberg? DISQUALIFIED.

The Secretary of State posts a lists of registered lobbyists that includes a list of their clients. Walsh has had other clients in past years, but in recent times, only the one. The big donations were made at the last minute, a time-honored tradition used so voters don’t really know who is behind the campaign. Read it and weep, Richard:

    http://cal-access.sos.ca.gov/Lobbying/Firms/Detail.aspx?id=1147413&session=2009

  27. I just love this line repeated with the attempt to give it some element of truth. So if Sundberg and Bass are DISQUALIFIED for taking the Walsh donation, then how many times over is Bonnie DISQUALIFIED for taking her huge donations from Southern California developers, etc?
    Gotta do better than that!
If you buy the line that Bonnie should be reelected because she is the most experienced, then every incumbant will always be (by this reasoning) reelected. So after 24 years it is time for the fear and intimidation to leave the courthouse with Bonnie. By the way Bonnie how about an audit of the general plan update funds? Redevelopment? Tooby Ranch? the list is long.

  28. Yahoo,

Your statements indicate you do not know shit about the water situation in Humboldt.

Sonoma County is not taking our water, fucking Mike Thompson is giving it to them. Oh, and he is a demo/progy.

Neely has been in 24 years and has not done shit to help us.

  29. Well, I have a significant background in the “water sutuation” in Humboldt County. As you know the water in the Mad River is use it or loose it. After years of angst, there still is no real solution to the use of the water. I have acturally read and studied the issue including background documents and the license that the HBMD has from the State. A “use” of the water is not defined in the license as for fisheries in the river, unfortuntely. I would much like it that way, but it is not. With the water hunger south of us, we are in deep trouble and we may just loose the rights to the water. Acturally selling some water to Sonoma County has merits since we will then control the water rather than have it “taken”. Oh, God, did I just throw shit in the fan?

  30. No fucktard, you didn’t just throw shit in the fan. You just threw shit on your face. And please quit your stupid fucking rambling discourse about water. The only documents you’ve been “studying” are rolling papers.

  31. Neely is a violation of the public trust.

  32. YAHOO!

    You suck.

  33. Bonnie is an ugly two faced woman

  34. Wow this has degenerated. Stop it. Neely deserves to go and has sold out but some of you here are now just acting stupid.

  35. Stupid is as stupid does. Degenerate is as degenerate does. Momma always said life is like a box of chocolates. Neely ought to go.

  36. Actually one of the options open to us is selling the water. Just one of several.

But this crap from bon bon folks about money is just that, Salzman crap.

  37. STFU about the water already. Shitheads (Kaitlin) screwed the export option and now we’re fucked.
    Prog/lib does NOT WORK.

  38. What the fuck is Kaitlin if not a prog. It was not just her, it was a joint effort on all the boards by that group of people not to allow discussion of the options several years ago.

The permit is not up for 15 more years or so but time is running thin. STFU is one thing I will never do.

  39. James Faulk is DEFINITELY involved with the Humboldt Herald. If anyone can say what James is doing now to refute his Bonnie Neely ass-kissing/Arkley-bashing behavior please step forward.

  40. James may well be too, but Larry Glass is definitely one of the Heraldo authors. He’s told me way too many things personally that have led me to believe this.

  41. Nice Fish! Is that a bass?

  42. Larry Glass is Heraldo, alwasy has been

  43. You dipshits are all fucking pathetic

You harbor some real winners here Mr. Mirror

  44. Why thank you 8:10. Hugs!

  45. Has Bon Bon taken up salmon fishing since she can’t catch Bass?

  46. Nah. Maybe suckerfish. Salmon won’t get near the Queen of Mean. And you know suckerfish are bottom feeders.

  47. Rob, some fine work you’ve done here. See ya at the next mixer!

  48. Rob isn’t the only author here, it is Cole Machado

  49. Chris, for the record, you think Cole Machado writes for the Mirror and Larry Glass is Heraldo? Back to your hole, mole.

  50. Haahahahahaaha!

  51. Pretty funny stuff…Always follow the money honey…Ask Bon Bon what she was thinking in allowing the Kirkster to steal er…take er…borrow er…re-appropriate all of the money away from a certain trust fund to provide money to the building department for tight budgetary times and give it to Kirkey (love bunny Girard) to build him a new shower, office and private conference room upstairs in the Planning Department.

  52. Just because you see something on a blog doesn’t make it true

  53. Everything on here is true. You Dunce! why do you think you can inform us on anything. Because you worked at a flower farm for 2 months and got fired? Find something constructive to do with your time.

  54. Everything on your blog inside sun valley isn’t true?

  55. Inside sun valley, why did you work for Larry Glass? Whatr did you do?
